by Arthur L. Salmon
Front Cover/Spine:
Revised by H. Ronald Hicks
This is a delightful old book about Cornwall. The book was originally published in 1903 and this is a copy of the Ninth edition, revised which was published in 1950 by B.T. Batsford Ltd., London & New York and Methuen & Co. Ltd., London. This copy would be considered The First Edition Thus. The book measures 3 7/8 inches by 6 ¼ inches and contains xii, 183 pages. It contains a number of vintage black and white photographs and a large fold out map. The orange cloth cover has the title in gilt on the spine and a lovely gilt crest on the front. The spine is sunned. The cover shows minor signs of wear to the edges, corners and to the top and bottom of the spine. The spine is tight and the hinges are strong. The name and address of a previous owner is inscribed on the front free end page. The pages show no signs of rips. The previous owner has marked occasional small notes and underlinings on some of the pages. He has also circled some cities on the map. This does not affect the readability of the text in any way. Exceptions noted, the overall condition of this book is very good.
