Front Cover/Spine:
This is a wonderful book about Portmeirion pottery and the history of the enterprise. The book was published in 1995 by Portmeirion Potteries, Ltd., Great Britain. The book measures 3 5/8 inches by 5 ¼ inches and contains 60 pages. The cover consists of shiny, pictorial, paper covered hard boards. The cover shows minor signs of wear, hardly worth mentioning. The spine is tight and the hinges are strong. The pages are printed on good quality, glossy paper and show no signs of rips. Exceptions noted, the overall condition of this book is very good plus to "like new."
Excerpt – Back Cover:
Susan Williams-Ellis and her husband started what became Portmeirion Pottery in Stoke in 1960. Neither of them know anything about pottery manufacture. Mistakes and disasters followed inevitably but Susan’s determination and brilliance as designer gradually inspired and motivated others to believe in her creations, resulting in the company’s success. This is the story told here. The colour pictures illustrate the range and originality of Susan’s many designs.
Many of her earlier pieces are now sought after by growing numbers of collectors for whom this book will be an essential guide.
