This book contains some reproductions of some very interesting old correspondence pertaining to the founding of our country. In addition to the letters, some background material is included, along with excerpts from Washington’s diary. The book was published in 1931 by the United States Government Printing Office, Washington. The book measures 7 ½ inches by 10 ½ inches and contains xviii, 167 pages. The cover consists of paper covered hard boards. The cover shows signs of soiling. The cover shows signs of wear to the edges, corners and to the top and bottom of the spine. The paper covering the edges is chipped in some places. The bottom corners are a bit bumped. The spine is tight and the hinges are strong. The pages show no signs of rips or foxing. Exceptions noted, the overall condition of this old book is good plus or better.

After calling attention to the unpublished documents of George Washington, Comte de Grasse, and others, he asked unanimous consent that the documents included in this list, which had been prepared by Miss Elizabeth S. Kite, a specialist in historical events, may be printed as a Senate document. They are almost invaluable historical data in connection with these two celebrations; that is, the Yorktown celebration, to be held in 1931, and the second centennial of George Washington’s birth in the year following…
