This book was inspired by Aeschylus's 'Prometheus Bound' and concerns Prometheus release from captivity. In this version, there is no reconciliation between Prometheus and Zeus in Shelley's narrative. This copy was published in 1900 as part of Cassells National Library New Series. The small book measures 3 ¾ inches by 5 ½ inches and contains 192 pages plus a small section of advertising in the back of the book. The soft cover shows signs of soiling and wear. There area a few small chips to the edges. The front cover is partially creased from top to bottom and there is a tear approximately 2 inches long to the front cover near the spine. Along the bottom edge of the crease is a small tear approximately ¾ of in inch long. The cover is securely attached. The name of a previous owner is written across the front cover and again on the half title page. The pages show no signs of rips or foxing. Exceptions noted the overall condition of this old book is good.
