This is a nice piece of World War II military memorabilia. The book was published in 1944 by the United States Government Printing Office, Washington. The book measures 8 ¼ inches by 10 ¾ inches and contains iv, 430 pages. The blue cloth cover shows signs of wear and light soiling. The title on the front and down the spine is a bit rubbed. The spine is tight and the hinges are strong. The pages show no signs of rips. The pages show signs of water spotting. The front end pages are smudged. The signature of a previous owner is inscribed on the front free end page. Exceptions noted, the overall condition of this book is fair.

The Cook Book of the United States Navy contains a summary of the principles of cookery, menu planning, and a comprehensive collection of recipes based on the newer knowledge of nutrition.

Many of the recipes were suggested and tested by the commissary personnel of the Navy, and all of the recipes have been developed and tested for practical use in the Navy.

Supplementary information which will be helpful to commissary personnel in preparing food of high standard is presented in tabular and other from.
