This is a lovely, old Victorian romance novel. It was published in 1899 by Brown and Company, Boston. The book measures 4 ¾ inches by 6 ¾ inches and contains 138 pages. The maroon cloth cover has gilt title on the front. It had been on the spine but is now faded. The cover shows signs of soiling. The cover shows signs of wear to the edges, corners and to the top and bottom of the spine. The spine is tight and the hinges are strong. The glue on the spine of the text block is dried out so there are spaces between the sections of pages. They are however firmly bound. There is a price marked in ink on the front free end page from a previous sale. The pages are printed on a good quality paper and show no signs of rips or foxing. The edges of the pages are deckled. The overall condition of this book is good.
