Excerpt - Dust Jacket:
This book deals with the several centers which served as the governmental headquarters of Texas after she had wrested independence from Mexico, and set her separate course among the nations of the world.
The history of each capitol is told in vivid detail by leading Texas historians. From the first capitol, housed in a crude wooden building, to the present beautiful building the events which shaped Texas are recounted. Original paintings by Clinton Baermann illustrate this beautiful publication. Authentic in every detail, showing the buildings as they appeared at the time they were occupied as capitols.
