The Lay of the Last Minstrel

by Sir Walter Scott

Front Cover:

This is a very lovely old book. It is wonderfully bound and decorated lavishly with gilt. The book was published in 1854 Adam and Charles Blac, North Bridge, Edinburgh. The book measures 5 ¾ inches by 8 ¼ inches and contains 354 pages. The blue cloth cover has beveled boards and a recessed decorated area in the center of both the front and back boards. The covers show signs of wear to the edges, corners and to the spine area. It would appear that the book has been repaired previously at the front hinge. The front free end page is glued at the inner margin to the paste down. The spine is currently tight and the hinges appear to be strong. There is an inscription on the front free end page. The pages show no signs of rips or foxing. The frontispiece is a lovely steel engraving. Exceptions noted, the overall condition of this book is good.
