The First Battle
A Story of the Campaign of 1896

by William J. Bryan
Together with a collection of his speeches and
A biographical sketch by his wife

Front Cover:

This is a very unique piece of American history. This book was published in 1896 by W.B. Conkey Company, Chicago. The book measures 6 ˝ inches by 9 ˝ inches and contains 630 pages. The cloth cover has title in gilt on the front and down the spine with a silver pictorial of Bryan on the front board. The cover shows minor signs of wear to the edges, corners and to the top and bottom of the spine, hardly worth mentioning. The spine is tight and the hinges are strong. The pages show no signs of rips or foxing. Exceptions noted, the overall condition of the book is very good.
